I'm trying to downgrade the firmware on a Billion ADSL modem 5200s. I upgraded to a version and ever since my ADSL line won't sync.

Unfortunately the modem is not allowing me to downgrade the firmware and comes back with an error:
"The uploaded file was not accepted by the router"

Is there any way to revert the modem back to the state in which it was purchased. Is there some kind of reflash utility for this modem that will allow me to downgrade the firmware?

Hi Andy

What is the firmware version you currently have on the router?

Hi

I installed firmware version 2.7.0.23(UE0.B1C)

Realising its the US version I then attempted to downgrade back using the file inside the zip named (from billionsa.com) BiPAC-5200SA2.7.0.38.zip

This was unsucessful and gave the error.

I then contacted Billion Support and the file they gave me changed my firmware to 2.10.5.0(UE0.C2C)3.6.0.0

I'm still suffering disconnects on my line, but it's likely now to be a Telkom line issue.

Let me know if the firmware version is correct for my modem? Thanks

THat is the correct firmware version contact Billion support if you still get disconnects and ask them to have a look at your line attenuation and SNR margins.

Thanks for checking it. That's one less thing to worry about
