Download apps without linking an account

Is this possible at all?

I have a spare phone that I want a remote control and a few other apps loaded - but that's it. It just sits in my lounge.

That said, I don't want it linked pulling up contacts and things.

Sure but you'll be downloading from non-Play Store/App Store sites which tend to carry risks.

Setup a new gmail account.
Disable sync in your account settings.
You can still allow PlayStore to update your apps or not.

Download and install APK's. But not everything is a available.

This - evozi allows you to download any app straight from the Google playstore. Open evozi, paste the link from playstore of the app that you want, download the APK from here onto your computer.

You can download using your main phone then use a tool like super back-up to create a back-up of the apk, then beam the apk file via Wi-Fi direct or Bluetooth to the required phone.

Otherwise you can always just remove the account once you're done downloading from the Play Store.
