download games for windows live from another pc

I installed GTA 4, and it stopped working after installing the latest patch.
Im told I need to update games for windows live.
So I downloaded the file, copied it to my gaming pc- which doesnt have an internet connection. I can plug in my phone if I need to for registrations etc, but that's quite expensive.

Anyway I ran the GFWL software and all it did was open a new window which wanted to download the real software which is 60mb

is it possible to download that 60mb file from somewhere directly and not have to go through that damn client?

I'm afraid you're stuck with updating it via the client only. There is a complicated way in which you can download updates for GFWL games via the command prompt, but I'll have to search for that. I once did it when I downloaded Section 8.
