Hey Guys

I want to download large images from the internet to print like the example provided. Unfortunately when I save the image it is in a lower quality than in the browser. Even though the quality of the downloaded image is still very good it's not as good as on the internet. Do you guys know of any alternative ways to download images and keep the quality?

Example: https://libweb5.princeton.edu/visual_materials/maps/websites/africa/maps-southern/1860s kiepert.jpg

The version you download shouldn't be any different - what's the file size of the above when you download it?

EDIT - my d/l is 5.3mb.

I usually right-click and select "open image in new tab". That usually gets you the image in it's original format. If that does not work then they have measures in place to prevent it. Possibly to protect copyright which should be respected.

That image is the same in my browser and when downloaded.
Both are around 5mb.

Shift + Command + 3 = Fullscreen Screenshot to Desktop.
Shift + Command + 4 = Selection Window to Desktop.
Shift + Command + 4 ...release...then Space = Screenshot of Window to Desktop.

Hold Ctrl along with any of these and it doesn't make the file just grabs to clipboard.

Shift + Command + 6 = Touchbar on the new Macbooks.

It is because your browser displays the image better than whatever image viewer you are using. Open the downloaded image with your browser and you will see it looks exactly the same.
