Does anyone know of download software that have a function that if your connection drops below a certain download speed it reconnects by itself until the speed is acceptable.

Ive googled but its all normal software that just gives you more than one connection for speeding up your downloads.

Thanks

Quite puzzling why you would want to do that.

Maybe you're not using the normal software correctly (download manager)? Idea of that is to find multiple mirrors to download from, not the same ftp site.

Use a download manager that uses segmented downloading + multiple mirror support. This should max out most adsl connections.

When I still used windose I used Getright.

Iam not using ADSL. My connection speed drops after about 60 secs. If I pause my download manager (Orbit) and start again the speed is exellent for 20 seconds again and then drops again.

If i can use something that does the reconnect automatically it can work. I even used a macro program than copies my mouseclicks and replay it but the replay timing goes #$@ after about the 4th rerun of the macro.

Getright has a ping function to help keep the connection alive and it can switch to a different server (if one is available) if the connection drops below a certain speed. Might help... but not exactly what you are looking for.
