Hi Guys

does any one on Iburst use Downstorm service for Torents?
I just want to know if its any good, i mean the price isnt too bad R49 for 4 gigs space , i guess if you use an international service you get about 10 gigs for the same price but i wouldnt mind supporting a local company.

I can normally pull about 26GB a month with torrents so downstorm would just be a waste IMO.

so i signed up for a 4Gb acount and have already downloaded about 8GB in 2 nights (after 12 to 8am), i have used torents on Iburst and they were OK, but quite slow especial after midnight but i find downstorm worth it, i get alomst a full speed download off their server(over100KB/PS after midnight)
so @Mental - tree by night 6 i can download more then you do in a month
I ran a test on a fresh torent (356MB), i downloaded via Utorent on my pc and at the same time let downstorm download, they downloaded in 15 minutes and my did not even get past 50 percent after by the end of the day


ill keep checking how it goes a downside i could not find a option to deactivate the service, im guessing ill need to email them (not that i want to at present) and if i need to download a single torent of over 4GB i cant, and you cant specify which file of a torent you only want them to download, but if they download the entire file, you can either download the files you want or download the whole thing as a RAR file

@OP, If I tried to dl the whole interwebs I'm sure I could do a lot more damage than just 26GB a month. I'm one of the very luck few who get full DL speeds with torrents

nope im using it after hours so it doesn use the full amount from my cap

Just wandered - I read a post about ISP's kicking subscribers out for using the likes of Downstorm and such to bypass shaping - it's apparently in the T's & C's.
Noob question: Do you reckon that if you used a similar service between say 9pm and 8am that this would be a non issue? with an average monthly download not exceeding 50g on 384 uncapped?

depends on what the t &c says, im guessing it may be a problem if they just say excessive use or give a gig figure and dont specify the site
