Hi folks

Our apologies for the downtime this evening and for any inconvenience it may have caused.

One of the servers went down which caused a problem across the full site. It looks like a faulty switch may have been responsible for the problem, but I will wait for more feedback from Hetzner before I can confirm the problem.

Regards,

RPM

Did this have anything to do with the an.broadband.co.za server? The browser had a hiccup every time when trying to load something from there...

Hi Ettubrute

This is indeed the exact server which went down. It was not actually the serving of the site which caused problems but rather the serving of ads...

@ JTech - I have no probs with Hetzner - the myadsl.co.za site was stable so far, so no major gripes from my side.

The usual few wibbles and wobbles occured inbetween, but you'll get that with any hosting company...

Hi Highflyer

Looks fine on my side...

BTW: The downtime was due to a power supply in the data centre blowing and resulting in a faulty power duct...

Seems to be ok now, but there was a slowdown a few minutes ago similar to last night with the page hanging on an.mybroadband.co.za :(

Is it only the ads being served from an.mybroadband.co.za? Because then I can add a line in my hosts file to point this server to 127.0.0.1! :D
