Hi everyone,
I wanted to share a warning about DPD Laser’s current service levels (or lack thereof). I’ve been stuck in a loop with them since the 28th of April, and I’ve finally had to take matters into my own hands.
The Background:
Has anyone else noticed DPD becoming this unresponsive lately? I’m now fighting for a refund, but if you’re moving specialized goods, I’d suggest steering clear and going straight to a courier that actually wants the business.
I wanted to share a warning about DPD Laser’s current service levels (or lack thereof). I’ve been stuck in a loop with them since the 28th of April, and I’ve finally had to take matters into my own hands.
The Background:
- I booked and paid for a collection from Midrand on 28 April.
- After multiple "rescheduled" dates, a support agent (Banolo Baloyi) told me they "don't courier sand" and-incredibly-that they couldn't locate my parcel.
- The Product: It’s FirmJoint Polymeric Sand—a factory-sealed, specialized building product. It is NOT loose sand.
- Despite DPD's system accepting my payment and scheduling the pickup, they suddenly decided it was a "prohibited item."
- For the last week, they told me the matter was "under investigation" but gave zero feedback. My emails to their queries, info, and collections departments on 08/05/2026 were completely ignored.
- Tired of waiting, I eventually booked The Courier Guy to go and collect the package.
- Guess what? The Courier Guy collected it with zero issues. No "sand" excuses, no "lost" tracking.
