Dragon Age delayed

Bad news guys. Games being delayed to Second half of the year. This is really disappointing especially looking at the release schedule with no other rpgs in this first half of the year. Also from the sounds of it the pc gamer got screwed by EA. They decided to have the console and pc version release at the same time.

We wanted to give the community a heads-up on a recent decision to move the launch of Dragon Age: Origins for the PC to the last half of 2009. That’s a change from the previously announced date of March 2009.

Why is this happening? Both EA and BioWare are really excited about the potential of the game on both PC and consoles and we want to ensure we deliver a blockbuster, AAA BioWare-quality title - as the game is shaping up so well already. An incredible amount of time and effort has gone into Dragon Age: Origins and this extra time will ensure we deliver the quality kind of launch you have come to expect from our games.

EA's CEO pretty much admitted that what I suspected was right.

[Update: During EA's earnings call, CEO John Riccitiello said the decision to delay Dragon Age: Origins was tied to a desire for the initial PC release to "coincide" with the console releases, and maximize the game's marketing potential. He also specified a fiscal Q3 launch, between October and December 2009.]
