Anyone have easy to use preferences for a drawing app that will be suitable as a means of communication? A buddy is having an op on his tongue and won't be able to talk for quite a while.

I've looked at quite a few, and most are either too complex or shouldn't even be in the store.

Thanks Park, that looks interesting. We'll have to see how a boerseun handles the rooitaal (as well as the female voice). It's quite funny to hear what comes out with Afrikaans. With SwiftKey's predictions it's reasonably quick to get your words entered.

Line Brush looks as though it may fit my original request for its ease of use.

haha yeah I was afraid it would be required for Afrikaans. With google translate one can type in Eng and have it read out in Afrikaans but the pronunciation is also not very accurate.

Unfortunately, the oke would prolly want to type in Afrikaans. Maybe I should see how google translate handles Afrikaans input??

Try using an app called layer paint. It allows you to create a large page if you want to write something on it. It works really good on a note device. The suggestions above seem really good as well.

Actually, google translate is not too vrot. It may do better than I thought as it also has handwriting recognition. And you can get it to say the original sentence, which maybe what roger moore was referring to.

A gripe I have with Google Translate is that neither the handwriting recognition nor the speech output work without an Internet connection :-(

Did you read what I said? Handwriting recognition and speech output do not work in offline mode. The translation is unfortunately not important in this exercise.

(For the record, the Afrikaans to English translation is atrocious.)

Ah, my bad, saw Google Translate and the rest sort of went by without me comprehending that sentence correctly :o

What is really off putting (I wanted to use another stronger word), is that Samsung's S-note app handles the handwriting recognition perfectly without an Internet connection...
