Drawing Software

I am looking for software (hopefully freeware) that I can use to draw basic structures. Paint is a bit to elementary, so I need something with a bit more oomph. Any suggestions?
And no, I am not going to use photoshop, that is too much, so something in between.

I know you can bypass the proxy and then get great speeds, but I am not that big of a computer geek to know how to do that without being caught...
