Hi there

I am looking at these two routers

http://www.billionsa.com/product/3g/bipac7402nx-wireless-11n-3G-ADSL2-vpn-firewall-router.html

http://draytek.co.za/index.php/ADSL2/2+-Routers/Vigor-2820Vn/Detailed-product-flyer.html

I need the VPN functionality, so any comment by a forum member with expereince with either one will be appreciated. I like the usb slot, will be used for ADSl fallover backup. The draft N looks good, may as well do that as oopposed to b/g if you are putting in a new wirless router.

Has anyone got any expereince with Draytek support. I have used billion before and was pleased with the help I got, granted it was on a far simpler device.

I will recommend that you go for the 7402NX thats a great router. I don't know about the draytek.

Thank. I have heard and read good things about the Draytek,anyone used VPN off these routers?

Wynsam, I have set a VPN on my Billion Biguard 30 which I found simple to configure. How does your setup look like, how many branches do you want to connect to?

VPN

Three remote sites currently, growing to more.

Draytek = 3 x 10/100Mbits/sec and 1 x Gigabit Ethernet Lan ports
Billion = 4-port Gigabit Switch

I would definitely go for the 4 port Gigabit Ethernet as this could double up you’re server backbone and if you are going to route the traffic via VLAN’s the gigabit speed could help allot!!

Correct me if I am wrong but I cant see 100/1000 lan ports making any difference to VPN speeds.
