Dreamlinux

Any 1 here using dreamlinux? It seems really nice. I read a review about the top 10 linux distros and dreamlinux is number 3 of the most downloaded distros in 2008. Im not sure how true this is but im going to check it out and see how good it really is. Here is their website www.dreamlinux.com.br

as usual, it would be worthwhile if there was a local mirror for this distro. Anyone know where it could be? sun, uct and up have the older beta version. mirrors do not get updated regularly though.

Agreed Smiley_lauf.
I tried Dream Linux out about 2 years ago, great distro and very forward thinking. The other Distro I like is Mint Linux, also very future conscious and not afraid to tinker with menus and custom addons.

I hear DL 3.0 (now 3.1 got updated a few days after release), is a beaut. But I am scared to try it on my beasty machine with the ATI card. Mint is an obvious fav but still have not found a good reliable local mirror to download this (I will wait for Mint to use Hardy repo's before I download though for my wife).

and XFCE btw. Reports from users is that even though one chooses XFCE during installation, DL defaults to GNOME; but guess one can select the DE to login at boot time. Annoying I agree.

How fast is it on GNOME though?

Hmm dont know I have the linux mint .iso x86 version. I can upload it to the free local ftp server if anyone want. And im allmost done with dreamlinux 3.1 I can upload that too if any 1 want
