I've become very thirsty lately & water is the cheapest to satisfy my thirst.

Are there any health benefits of drinking 2 to 3 liters of water per day other than rushing to the johns more often?

There's something wrong with you mate.

Go to the doctor. ~Swiff~ Have him draw some blood samples. I don't want to scare you but Diabetes sometimes has a symptom of someone being thirsty too often.

I have one cup of coffee in the morning and drink between 2-4l of water a day from the tap nogal :p

Way better than anything else because honestly nothing sorts your thirst out like a couple glasses of water and it is winter now so it's ice cold straight from the tap :).

Increased thirst under otherwise normal circumstances, point out to some undiagnosed problem. Go to the doc and have your blood sugar level tested asap! I hope you are ok though. In a healthy person, extra watter does not do much good nor bad. It makes the kidneys work overtime but at a lesser pace. If you have some kidney problem, you want that 'lesser pace'. But be carefull - ways too much watter (and I mean a lot), without eating, for prolonged periodes, can kill ! (invers osmosis ! ! !) very few people know that ! If all your medical tests are ok and you are healthy, the best is to drink 'just enough'. And your body will tell you what 'enough' is.
