A driver has recorded themselves hitting 309km/h on the N1 in Gauteng, sparking strong criticism on social media.

Media consultant and anti-crime activist Yusuf Abramjee posted the video, calling the act “sheer madness”.

Thought so, the cars are usually limited to 155mph (250kph)

To those who would condone it:

The other traffic is the issue, another driver maybe switching lanes because the other driver sees your lights are, say a 150 meters back, it should not be an issue right? But since you going 85.5 meters per second, you are onto the lane changer in under 2 seconds.

The road is not clear, as can be seen in the video.

Speaking of this I see some people barely slow down for the E Tag section at normal toll's they go through there at like 80 till the day that boom doesn't go up quick enough and a windscreen gets sacrificed.
