What is SA's laws on someone driving without a license in a CAR and on a motorcycle ..

And then what is SA's LAws if you make a accident and you dont have a license

Q1: For now they only get a fine or maybe if they encounter a zelaous legal person attempting to defeat the end of justice charge. In the future hopefully demerits and then suspended license.

Q2: They are liable for the damage and the other parties insurance will hound them forever to get their money back and probably a fine.

PS: Anyone driving without a numberplate is a big coward and a little mommas boy and a retard to boot

In a car, learner's license - only when accompanied by a licensed driver.

Bike and car, no license on you - R500 fine (either that or R300, not sure). Accident if you're not licensed (that includes learners driving solo in a car) could get you a reckless or negligent driving charge.

Why, are you (considering) driving without a license?

Accident without licence = no insurance and possible criminal charge.

Caught driving without a licence - fine of R500 - R1000.

Dunno the details, but I thought its like this:

Not having the license card = Fine
Not licensed at all = Serious trouble (Heard can't register for 5 year)

All based on rumour, not law.

Car is a R500 rand fine. You can use that fine in order not to get any more fines for not having a license on that particular journey. Vehicle insurance will not cover a vehicle that has been involved in an accident where the operator was not licensed to use that vehicle. IIRC, an unlicenced operator of any vehicle involved in an accident is held responsible for the accident.

EDIT: Ulicensed
adj.

Having no official license.

I'm a bit confused...

OP. Are you asking about not actually having gotten a license and driving.... or that you don't have it with you?

uum the theoretical person has no license or learners at all

oky tnx ... I just want to know I already have a license and my own car don't worry ...

oky so no license and in a accident = No insurance and heavy legal charges or fines ....

and just getting stopped without a license = fine ... R 300 - R1000

oky 1 more question

what if you have a fake license but it looks legit (like really legitimate ) and they catch you wit a fake and you dont have a real one and you are underaged (added you do not make a accident they just pul you over )

ok, so if you got a license, and say go out somewhere and you get liberated from your wallet which contains your license, and on your way home is involved MVA your insurance don't pay out? :wtf:

thats seems a bit harsh?

You will need a snorkel for that depth of doodoo.

Insurance will only not pay out if you never actually got a valid license. Not simply for not having it with you at the time of the accident

:erm: You'd be in some serious poo-poo then. Not recommended.

That's considered fraud, and a criminal charge will be laid against you.

It has been mentioned that it is your fault regardless of circumstance if you are in an accident without a license. But wait! There's more!

If someone is injured or killed you are automatically liable and WILL face criminal charges. Furthermore the owner of the vehicle will be asked the following question: "Where you aware that person X was operating your vehicle without a license?" If the owners answer is yes, then the owner will also face a criminal charge, if the owners answer is no, the driver faces further criminal charges.

If you drive without a license you'd best be very very careful ;)

having a fake licence is a lot worse than not having one at all.
i'm quite sure thats either fraud or something very close to it. its not worth the risk 'cos a record like that will remove many career options for you.

What about driving with a license from a foreign country, if you live and are an SA citizen for more than 3 years?

You need either a SA license or an international license. Your foreign license is worth zero after something like 3 months.
