Droid for R2K to R3K

I am looking for a droid for the wifey for between R2000 and R3000 in Cape Town. I heard rumours that the Ascend P1 is back at R2499, but I have no idea where to get it at that price... Anybody know where or have another suggestion for a phone in that price bracket?
