This may be the wrong discussion board (not sure)... but has anyone else noticed a huge increase in dropped cellular calls?

Since Monday I don't think I've finished a single conversation without having to re-dial once or twice during the call. Friends and colleagues complaining about the same.

So is it just me or are networks' capacity falling behind with demand? It does seem to be across all three networks.

not just you ... I have been experiencing this as well .. even logged calls with mtn and hellopeter, but mtn just does not seem to care or have no idea how to fix it

yup I'm on MTN too.

I've always thought a nice research project for mybroadband should be an app that logs dropped calls (not sure if its possible on iOS but should be on android). We could collect the data and do some analyses to determine the statistical prevalence of dropped calls for various networks. Will only be able to get indicative probabilities but the data should be able to point towards a trend if one of the networks were worse than the others.

I'm happy to analyse the data if someone else feels like writing the app :)

Having the same issue, tweeted them though and they responded and said they would try and resolve the issue.

We really need an independent body to publish stats on dropped calls. Some publicly available information would be the only possible real incentive to prompt networks into action. They're pushing their margins thinner every year...

Also have similar issues this week. On MTN and have had a few times this week were my phone was stuck on emergency calls only even if I restarted the phone. MTN network has been really bad this whole year thou.
