My brand new Nokia 6210 navigator got dropped and now the slider is loose. Everything still works (thank god) but the rattling and wobbling is really annoying and I will have to put up with it for 2 years (contract).

Is it worth trying to get it repaired or will it be too expensive? And if I do decide to repair it where should I take it?

The manufacturer should fix it, say it was lose when you got it, but now its worst!

Not a bad idea but I'm too honest, I know it sucks but that's me.

I did do some research and it looks like trying to get it fixed could be more trouble than it's worth. For example, the nokia repair center has 135 complaints on hellopeter and only 4 compliments. Some people are saying they waited over a month for a repair and when they got the phone back it had other damage like a cracked screen or something, I'm not letting those guys anywhere near my phone.

I may even try fix it myself, I think I can glue something under the slider to stop it from moving while its open. Or I could just live with it as it is.

Phones with moving parts are a risk. Almost as risky as phones with touch screens...

Monoblock FTW!

hey just a thought, do touch screen phones lock or something. i am wondering if they are in your pocket or something do they switch on and start working if they are bumped or something.

Unfortunetly you will have to lie. Tell them it was loose when you got it and got worse, and demand that they give you a replacement.

Yeah it locks the keys when it's closed. Also answers the call when opened but these settings can be changed

Sell the broken phone - and get a new 1 !

That could be one way of doing it.

I may give them a call and see what they say, although I suspect that when they open it up it will be obvious that it had been dropped. But like I said everything else works so I guess I could live with it, it just feels like crap using the phone now with the rattling and clunking going on.
