I've rerolled a druid. What dps spec would be best for levelling and doing dungeons, balance or feral? I want to enjoy levelling while giving some descent dps in dungeons. Any advice?

I found feral to be perfect. Rolling as a tank gives you an average of 5 seconds waiting time to enter dungeons. From outland they say moonkin is very good, but I kitty'd my way through to 85. Vashj'ir is druidville, while everyone else without swim form does Mt. Hyjal.

Nice thing about feral is you can dps and tank in the same gear. I have duelspecced both feral. My tanking and PVP spec is pretty much the same thing - then a pure dps spec which I hardly ever use since I don't bother with pve anymore.

Instant Flight form will make you never want to play anything else ever again. Especially when jumping off cliffs or collecting quest items while hovering above the ground & not aggro'ing mobs.

Agreed. Leveling as kitty is fast and easy, and great if u want to tank.

Thou owl is pretty decent also and works gr8 if you plan to go resto and heal as u can just use the same gear, with Spirit giving you hit rating.

I have a boomkin - leveled with the boomkin and also do raids with it - awesome char - very good dps if geared and played right. Feral is also good - but mainly for tanking really.

I'd did my 80 - 85 as a kitty. Stealth is awesome when it comes to skipping mobs to get to that quest item / mob.

Depends on what you like, melee or caster.

With Feral, you can dual spec as tank and have very short queues. Gear wise they are the same with very little differences. You have less downtime, but aren't that strong in AoE. If you skip Nurturing Instinct, you will have weak heals that can become a problem when you need to heal yourself when you are 80+.

With Balance, you can dual spec as healer. They also have similar gear, but Resto has a stronger focus on Spirit. There also appears to be less quest reward gear for Balance. You'll have to stop and drink more often. The Eclipse mechanic does take some time to get used to. You also get Starfall, which is great for AoE farming.

Overall, I prefer Feral over Balance for leveling.

As per above - play whichever spec you enjoy the most. For leveling they're both pretty good :)

Personally I enjoyed leveling as feral a bit more (it just feels a lot more interactive to me/mobile) but I did 80-85 as resto/boomkin as I heal occasionally for guild groups and it was easier running around carrying one set of gear then swapping out entire sets for dungeons.

Feral = less down time

Fight Fight Fight heal innervate /kitty Fight Fight....

i leveled my druid as balance / resto dual specced.. but if i could redo it id level as feral tbh jst for faster dungeon ques as a tank :p balance is pretty fun to quest with though
