I'm going to make a NE druid to return a 2 year healing favour :D

Anyway. I want to play as resto and level as it. Now with that said, would bouncing around in Kitty be ok in Resto, or should I spec Balance instead and play that as it will still be ok if I have +Healing gear for healing.

Due to the spellpower change healing would be easier with Balance gear (more mana and more healing) as opposed to strength/agi/stam gear from feral. Alternatively you can level how you want (kitty /rawr), and have a second set in your bags for healing instances

See that is what I need to know.

I want to be an IMBA healer but also able to level accordingly. So you are saying the Int and Spirrit as Balance will benefit me massively if I used healing gear to heal instances ?

Not having played a druid (played elem shammy and did the same thing), early on it shouldnt matter, you only start seeing a difference in gear between caster dps and caster healing at 60. Speccing full healer from the start will just slow down your leveling

K, Balance with healing gear it is then :p

I'm having a look at the talent trees now and this is what I see as must haves as a base for doing at least the smallest of heals in an instance.

Improved Mark of the wild 2/2 (Improve the effects gift of the wild and Mark of the wild spells by 40%)

Nature's Focus 3/3 (Reduce the push back of ... ... ... ... spells by 70%

Subtlety 3/3 (Reduces threat and dispel chance by 30%)

Naturalist 5/5 (Reduces casting time of healing touch spells by 0.5 sec and increase physical damage in all forms by 10%)

That is 13 talent points in resto. Now just to try and get the other 58 talents to maximize Balance spec ...

I've had a lvl 1 druid girl sitting in my char list for aaaaages now. I've never gotten around to leveling her, but I'm very keen to!

A mate of my leveled as a OOMkin and he did just fine. He's still specced as one and was top of our guild.

No that sounds a bit silly :P

Remember your other trees do synergise with each other

Also remember that with the new threat mechanics reduced threat is a bit of a waste, our healers are nowhere near my threat in a fight

look at
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=0xGbuicsIdhVhouZbxcub
or
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=0xGbuicsIdhVhMhZbxcub

both are built around 55/0/16 but one speccing in the 51pt talent

What I am saying is you can perform an alternate role in normal instances out of spec

No pls, I appreciate each and every input. I'm new to this druid thing :p Any help is appreciated

That favour is going to be appreciated :D

As stated, go balance as you can add a few nukes here and there when we run instances.

I leveled 70 - 80 in balance form and also healed all of the normal instances specc'd balance. The only downside was that I used a ton of mana.

I went:

IMOW 2/2
Natures focus 3/3
Naturalist 5/5
Intensity 3/3

This was mainly to reduce downtime and to cope with healing in those fights that took longer than normal (more mana, less pots).

58 point balance: For a group balance setup I would consider dropping brambles, insect swarm and imp IS (dependent on your solo style), imp FF, gale winds and owlkin frenzy. I would suggest trying to get starfall for non groups (can pull a group, barkskin, AoE mobs to death).

Items: +spellpower and +haste (to reduce the casting time of HT)

I think u might not make it in naxx with a hybrid spec, i am 11/0/60 and there are times i get a bit stressed in some of the fights. Some of the bosses hit bloody hard. Also some of the fights can take a long time, so mana (and mana regen is important) mine when raid buffed is 1250 out of combat and 490 in combat, and when another healer is killed going oom is raid wipe. So i feel not going deep into healing u will not be taken on raids.

As valid as your point is, Naxx isn't on Pitbulls prio list at the moment :p

Dude i have a T7 druid Resto with a insane weapon from Naxx 25

Goto armory, search "Colddeath" from Afterdawn - Dragonblight

Theres a answer, healing in 25s in SA with crappy internet is HARD, thats why i stopped, started a warrior and leveling one atm.

IF u dnt have Un-Shaped, DONT RAID 25s
Solved.

Edit: Druids are fun to level though specially if ur Feral.

From my leveling experiences Tallent points don't really mean anything till you have reached early to mid 20's then only you start to see the changes. So I think I'll just pimp my first few healing talents first then start building on the Balance tree.

Always wanted to play a druid but playing a Tauren on Horde side is killing my eyes :( Hate the way those taurens look  Someone else playing one looks fine, but staring down the back of a big arse cow the whole day..... not for me ty :o
