Im having a problem with dry eyes. Can forum members share their experiences and how they treat dry eyes.

What i have found is that the eye drops with preservatives are more effective, they however have a limitation where you should not use it more than 4 times a day.

The non preservative drops tend to evaporate very quickly.

I have come across an alternative to drops , the Bruder Eye Compress ( microwave ), however it does not seem to be available locally.

Go to a doctor/eye specialist.

You don't want stupid advice from here....

I’ve been to an opthamologist , prescribed eye drops.

I’m interested to hear how members here with dry eyes treat their condition.

I struggled with dry eyes for more than a year. Nothing I tried really helped. Eventually I was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition, one of the symptoms of which is dry eyes. Although very unlikely in your case as these conditions are fairly rare, I would ask your doctor to send you for blood tests to rule out any autoimmune conditions.

Could also be side effect of Blepharitis which is not curable and can only be treated symptomatically I found out after seeing opthalmologist, doing eye tests, a long anti-biotic course, trying countless home remedies, etc

I've also been battling with this, notice it's worse under aircon at work or when I was in jhb for a week ,but when I went to Asia being got and humid,my eyes were no longer dry/burney, so could it just be the air then?

Which ones with preservatives do you recommend?

My ophthalmologist recommended Optive Fusion and this relieves the irritation of dry eyes for me.

Use Optive every day. Ophthalmologist says no issue using it as much as you need. I also just try blink a lot more.

I have paid attention to what causes me to use it more, try to avoid it. For me, its eye strain from a computer (using the laptop screen seems worse), AC in the office so I try to get out every couple of hours for fresh air, and then moving to a more humid climate made a big difference. I also find the more hydrated I am the less dry my eyes feel (but this might just be something that is in my head).
