Soles(not to be confused with souls), you know.. bottom & back of feet. For some reason lately/last few yrs mine have gotten hard spots(not cracking tho, kinda like when doing weights without gloves and you get those hard spots under fingers) at the back and on endge of big toe and i have no idea why. Is it an indicator of circulatory issues? or diabetes or what? (Yah i know its odd thing to ask but typically in medicine little things like this indicate other problems and lately people are realising its all interconnected) I do wear socks a lot and shoes/sandles so its not like its hard due to walkng bare foot either.(although my sandles are like hardish leather + cork ones).

2ndly how does one get it to go away? like permanently. I should ask my dad(he is a doc but then i'd likely get some lecture on something) but i am curious if other people get it and how they sorted it out.

Do you wear socks and shoes alot?

My buddie wears sandles more and his feet are in a shocking state. I always wear socks and shoes as i hate dry feet . Cream is also your friend.

Hard spots lead to cracking over time.
I use one of those foot rasp thingies you get at dischem to get rid of the hard spots and then camphor cream.

Vaseline and mix in camphor oil.

Apply daily.

I never had issues with dry feet, but my dad did and the above worked wonders. I haven't seen his heels dry since then.

Scholl products are he best when it comes to feet. Try the Scholl heal balm ... you will see a noticeable improvement in 2-3 days if you use it consistently every morning and evening. Give it a try ... usually available at Clicks / Dischem. Don't use another brand .. stick with Scholl.

My feet always look like that in summer, as I hate shoes and walk barefoot as much as possible. Even just wearing sandals will still cause you to get it.

Camphor cream really does help. If you apply it liberally after your bath/shower and then wear socks when you go sleep, it will help curb the problem.

Sandpaper to get rid of the buildup. Ducktape or superglue fix the cracks. :)

you guys put superglue on your feet and then wonder why it goes hard?

I wish my feet were a bit drier - my feet are so sensitive when I take my socks off....think i wear shoes too much

If you have trouble with cracked heals dry brittle nails test your thyroid.

Those are all symptoms.( I do not know but It could be hereditary too but get tested to be sure) I never had problems with my heels. Now I have dry skin on my feet the skin is very thin ( not the hard extra skin I have seen on other people) and it burst open for nothing. now I use bio oil and tissue oil on my feet.

Yea myself, walking in the garden actually hurts my feet but i would rather have soft sensitive feet than hard cracked feet.

The joys of summer :(.

maybe we should put superglue on our feet or start walking around barefoot more often? (not at the same time of course)

LOL

F no, that sounds rough. I also hate the feeling of rough feet, makes me cringe when they rub up on socks or my blankie :D.
