Dsc Alarm internet module

Not sure if you can bypass zones. Haven't tried it yet.

I have an automation running when a zone triggers to write to input_text the value of the one triggered and the sends a notification which zone triggered. Once alarm gets disarmed it clears the text input. Have a look at the attached. Don't add this to home assistant as a file. You will need to add it to its own correct location.

Input text will go configuration/helpers
automations will go to configuration/automations as 3 seperate automations.
Thanks for this. Would it make sense to set a condition in the source info section to only update the state if the alarm is armed?

Isn't it writing a ton of unnecessary entries to that state throughout the day though. I.e loooooong log file?
Nope, none that I have seen.

There is 2 sensors for the pir/door. Sensor that will record the open/close or motion state. Binary sensor that will record the trigger for alarm.

The binary sensor only will only go to on if it is triggered by the motion sensor.

It will show unavailable if a sensor is open, like a door or there is motion in front of a pir.
It looks like that when HA restarts it has the alarm system status as "unknown" until it changes state. I said "unavailable" previously but I was incorrect.

That notification yaml of yours saved me his of work - thank you!

Edit: also just noticed arming via the keypad doesn't update the alarm status on HA.
Edit2: To expand on the above, alarm_control_panel.safe_alarm_panel doesn't update at all from the alarm. So also, when the alarm triggers, HA doesn't register any change of state.
Edit3: I found the error - I'd made a typo in the config file. All good now

Perfect. Typo's can break things easily.

I managed to make one mistake this morning and took the entire network down. Spend the day trying to figure out where the wrong tick/setting was.

I noticed my alarm wasn't working on HA earlier and went to the module to investigate. The blue led on the nodemcu is flashing continually. Anyone know what that means?

I recently purchased a home which has a DSC Powerseries 64 alarm system.

I’m familiar with paradox as I have it in my other home and office.

Once thing I’ve noted is the price of accessories like the IP module and keypads are so much more expensive than paradox.

Anywhere I can find the IP module at a decent price ?
I know my old DSC 5010 supports the Olarm Module which is a pleasure to use. Maybe it will work with yours also... not sure...

Looking through the logs to try figure out the issue, all I can see is that ESPhome updated yesterday. Could that update have broken things?

EDIT: I rolled back to the previous ESPHome snapshot, but still no joy.
EDIT2: Deleted and re-installed the integration and it's working again

The developer has confirmed there's an issue with the latest ESPHome update (1.18). Perhaps hold back on updating until the issue has been resolved.

I caved in and purchased the evisalink from Amazon

Hi, is the setup able to bypass zones remotely?
Yes, depending on the interface you use. You simply send the keypress for bypassing the desired zone. I have a button set up on my home assistant to bypass a set of pre-determined zones and then arm the alarm.
