Good day all

I am stuck with a dilemma. I do not know which transmission to choose. Firstly I believe driving manual vehicles shows you are the MAN and I get a thrill from shifting gears especially when on third gear I put my foot down on the accelerator for that umph!!! Also I must say DSG makes me crazy!!! Those farting sounds are just WOW!!! Now yesterday I test drove the Auris hybrid with CVT. I must say is was responsive. Buy my concern is the acceleration, does the engine sound decrease as the speed increases? I wouldn't want to be doing 150 km/h on the high way but the engine sounding like I'm in first gear!!!

Advice please.

Once you go DSG, you'll never want to go back.

With a good (European) CVT there is not supposed to be any drama when changing gears, because it can select the perfect variable ratio to take you up the gears without any kick or lag. I have found Asian CVT's to be really noisy.

If you are looking for a some 'umph!!!' when changing gears and travelling at 150 km/h why are you looking at a economical hybrid CVT? Glossing over the legalities of traveling at that speed, a hybrid would be really inefficient.
