So moving out of my current place to another.

There currently is a pre-paid phone at the house where I'm moving to.
Do I need to convert the current line to a normal line and then have the DSL planted on top of it? In so doing, I reckon Telscum is gonna charge me yet again for installation.

What about the option to move my current number to the new location?
What are the hassles and costs involved?
I don't really care for my current number - so its not my primal concern.

Just looking for the quickest (and is there a) cheapest way to stay online.

For those of you that have already been through such and endeavour, your advice/hints/tips would be appreciated.

Many thanks
Ciao

You need to convert your phone. Pre-paid won't work, not sure of thr costs though

AFAIK you cannot transfer your ADSL. If you connect to the same exchange it would make sense to do it, but Telkom most likely does not cater for that 'maybe'.

You'll have to upgrade the line to a paid line, and you will have to apply for ADSL.

kk thanks for the responses.

Its a different exchange, so here comes the costs again :o

Thanks all...

Cost and waiting time, with Telscum you can't be assured of service. I'd suggest using your phone (especially if it supports 3G and higher) as a backup solution to have internet.

Best wishes Mr. Shakey ;)

Thanks teratjie - I'll just be browsing at work during my downtime :p Seeing that it feels like I spend most of my time here anyway :o

At home - I'll just have to do without the web - no cell as it was stolen a week ago (or more, I forget :D )
