dsl-cache.saix.net proxy server

I have reported to Telkom that I cannot connect/browse to www.sbic.co.za via my ADSL line even though I can get anywhere else on the Internet & they tell me that I have to setup a proxy namely, dsl-cache.saix.net with port 8080.
I do not understand why this needs doing just because of one site. Please explain.

check to see if its your firewall or adblock.
My adblock plus stoppped me from internet banking and various other sites.

Also try clear your temporary internet files.

Don't think its a proxy setup error thingy.

It works for me, I'm on SAIX bandwidth, without me having to set a proxy.

what IP address do you get for www.sbic.co.za I get 196.8.95.20

Do you perhaps have a Telkom Marconi router??

I had a few issues with certain sites - Standardbank was one of them -
Certain microsoft sites as well

We had the same issue with 12 of our ADSL lines.

OIur ISP moved from SAIZ to IS, we were getting 403's when browsing via cache.saix.net
