After yesterday's load shed my adsl line seems to be down, I thought it might be the telkom router but it seems fine just that the DSL light is off.

Could my DSL line be down or is there a possibility that the routers ADSL modem could be damaged? I don't have another modem to test the line.

I've called 0800 375 375 and am still waiting for support after 30 mins so far!!!

No, our exchange got struck by somethign two weeks ago and my ADSL light went dead as well.

Yesterday Telkom moved me onto a new port on the exchange and it fixed it.

OK.

Did you call telkom? if so what number did you dial? I'm still on hold ATM

The same happened to me after yesterday's loadshedding.

I still don't know if 0800 375375 works at all, we were on hold for an hour and again later for 30 minutes with no one answering. In the end we got a support ticket from 10219. You can then phone 10217 (corporate helpline) who answer almost immediately to find out the status of your fault report. It's back online now, so I assume phoning them worked.

Good luck.

Thanks.

I'll try those numbers because I'm still on hold with 0800 375375 since I started this thread!

Thanks Ekhaatvensters!

10219 worked, I only waited 15 min and they put me through to 0800 375375 directly and my port was changed now I'm online again.

I hope this wont become the norm after every load shed :(

Glad you got sorted buddy ;) I think EHV found a new loophole, lol :p

Thanks Tera

Yeah I waited for an hour on 0800 375375 but the operator of the other number put me through directly... weird.

My DSL line is dead again! :(

This time the DSL light just flashes, I'm going to try yesterday's method and see how long it takes.

Edit: Working now, took less than 5mins to get through to support
