DSL line speed increases - when?

The more things change the more they stay the same...

pfft I'm still waiting for my 4meg line's upload speed to by hiked to 512....but that seems to not be happening either.

i know there was a guy a while back that could "juice" your line up to 512/640 upload speeds, but i think he's left telkom, tough luck!

Well I did ask Photonman to help, but he could not. Something to do with the exchange. The hope was that when Telkom start to implement higher upload speeds, my exchange would get sorted, it obviously has not happened.

Photonman also couldn't up mine due to the exchange, but when Telkom moved everyone to 512kb mine went up as well.

You should try giving them a call. It'll be tough getting through to the right people though. :(

 I better brace myself and make the call. Oh I am dreading it. Thanks for the info though, it gives me a glimmer of hope.

dont do it , be happy with the 384k upload , if you phone you will end up with problems with the line , well half the time you ask telkom to do 1 simple thing you end up with a new big problem , not trying to scare you but its just a fact , i asked for a 2nd line to be installed and they disabled my 1st line then i had to wait a few days and they reactivated my 1st line

Yes this is a real possibility, however I found that better results (by far not perfect) are found by either going to the Telkom Direct shop, or by making use of the Afrikaans contact number they give. Generally people understand what you are saying, and what you need, even if to only be re-directed to the right person to speak to, but it remains a gamble.
