Dear All,

I work for a small company having 15-20 nodes so we are using DSL modem router and getting internet connectivity of 512 Kbps.

Almost each of my user have to go through repairing the Network connection so that he can browse continiously...if he didn't repair the connection, the browsing didn't work at all.

could you please tell me is there any software available which can help me in giving the proper bandwidth to my users so they don't have to repair the connection each and every time...or any other idea about setting up the DSL modem connection would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks...

Sounds like the IPs are somehow getting screwed. Try setting fixed IPs for each PC with the IP being in the same range/subnet as the router. i.e. My router's IP is 192.168.1.1 so the first PC has a fixed IP of 192.168.1.2 and so forth. Also, set the DNS server under to the router's IP and also the gateway IP. (Not exactly "by the book", but it should work)

Oh and 20 users on 512kbps sound a bit thin.

Should fix the problem.;)

Maybe try rebooting the router first before resorting to fixed IPs.

A couple month's ago the place I was working at had a similar problem (after a couple bouts of load shedding) and rebooting the router did the trick.
