DSLAM too far?

I tried to upgrade from ADSL to VDSL at my home and according to Telkom my line is compatible with VDSL .They even sent me all the hardware (modem etc.). Now they tell me that according to the technician my house is too far from the DSLAM !? This box is only 50 metres from my house and I always see Telkom technicians working there. Is this the exchange that they are talking about

Nah, thats just a junction box... All your neighbours lines group up there, then it goes from that to the exchange.

Thanks for the info guys...I cant understand why Telkom's website says my line is OK for VDSL , when I asked them why they sent me all the hardware the lady from Telkom said it was the courier who made a mistake..

Something definitely not right there.
