We just got this model decoder installed and we are viewing our DStv over the A/V input on our TV while with our older DStv decoder we were viewing it over the RF.
We tried a few times to get a picture to show on the TV through the RF output of this decoder but it's almost like the signal isn't strong enough. I also noticed that on the front of the decoder there is a little UHF stamp which suggests to me that there is a way to adjust it? Can anyone enlighten me?

Firstly I don't know why you would rather use RF, worse picture quality & mono audio is not something to aim for
Secondly, go into settings and change the UHF frequency (change it to around 30) then retune the TV

AV is definitely the better option to use.

I have to agree here - AV output gives you stereo sound and a better picture quality - it is a direct AV (Audio/Video) connection to the TV, whereas an RF (Radio Frequency) signal through an aerial cable, as mentioned, give you a poorer signal, mono sound, and is subject to interference from other electrical devices. Usually an RF signal feed is dedicated to a Bedroom, kitchen or study TV, where stereo audio is not such an issue, and this would need to be amplified through an RF Setback Amplifier to boost the signal to acceptable levels on the other TV's, as RF signal strength degrades over distance (usually 10m or more).

Does anyone know what the default pin is to get into settings?

The reason for going RF is because our TV is still a CRT and we want to be able to record onto our old VHS recorder (no PVR)!

Picture and sound quality aren't really an issue on our old CRT. We've had it that way for many years and haven't noticed any significant quality drop.
