I don't know what commercial agreement DSTV and Makro have, but I had enough of those DSTV people jumping and swarming at you the moment I walk into the Makro. This has been going on for months now and without fail they jump onto to you sometimes up to 3 times within the first few minutes in the Makro.

Today I complained to store management and walked out of the Makro and I will not return to the Makro until this DSTV Campaign has ended

As far as I know that is not allowed under some or other act - CPA possibly.

They can make one approach and after that you are allowed to beat the shyte out of the next one.

I actually love it when they accost me at Makro... which is usually every time.

First I proceed to tell them what an evil company DSTV is
Then I explain to them about my home network set up and media servers and how many terabytes of content I have.
Then I tell them what a joy it is to watch TV shows the day after they air in the USA without any commercials in High Definition.
Then I ask them why I need DSTV again.

They usually stand there with their mouths going like guppie fishes and I smile as I walk away.

Live Sport - the situation sucks but Supersport is awesome :|

This happened to me in Game the other day... (I'm fairly certain it wan't Makro...)

I've never seen them....

Last time I was at Makro, about 2 months back, I was 'accosted' - funny thing is, they were trying to sell me one of those 7" Walka's or Drifta's or whatever the name is, but they couldn't get a signal / reception as their one on display wasn't even setup.

How's that for a useless direct-selling approach/setup, from a multi-million/billion Rand Co. ?

No offense, but you must look gullible. 0 people bother me when I walk into ANY stores

In my case, I happened to be standing near their section, looking at smartphones.
So, they in fact interrupted me from doing something important !

Yes maybe they see me react and cringe when I walk into the store trying to avoid them. Next time I'll take a can of doom and point it at them.

I think it is more a case of me visiting Makro when it is not so busy. so when I walk into the store there are about 5 of them waiting to pounce on the next victim and unfortunately you have to walk past them. What I understood from the department manager is that they seem to swap the teams weekly so they don't recognise you as that customer who told them to F... off last time

I've also been accosted exactly zero times and I go to Makro quite a lot.

Must say it's a very strange tactic though. Who doesn't know about DSTV? Maybe it's just an obfuscation strategy to sign up the gullible.

This has happened to me at Pick 'n Pay a few times as well

cant stand them
Whether its makro or pnp hyper!!

the last time this woman was following me around in PnP and I could see she was from dstv
I just kept walking faster trying to ignore her, then she started the whole "excuse me sir" thing
I finally stopped and told her Im not interested in any DSTV stuff and please leave me alone.
Then she said she was just trying to stop me so she can read what was written on my T-shirt...
We both lol'd
