Hi folks, simple question here.

I've just bought my first widescreen TV (a little behind the curve, yeah), and have noticed that precious few channels on DSTV actually broadcast in 16:9 mode.

I noted with a slight degree of annoyance that the European football, which Supersport goes to great lengths to advertise that they broadcast, is filmed assuming you have a widescreen display, as a lot of the action happens off screen on a normal 4:3 display. With DSTV not broadcasting these games in widescreen, the status quo remains - I have the 16:9 tv, but I'm still missing the action on the sides.

Now I've read / heard about / seen the channels that ARE broadcast in Widescreen, and those are awesome, but is there any info / rumours / confirmation from Multichoice around them starting to broadcast more channels in widescreen mode?

Unless you have HD, there is zero sport in Wide Screen.

In WS on SD there is M-Net Action, MM1 and MM2, Sky News, BBC World and Fashion TV. That's it. The rest of the bouquet is 1970 PAL format SD 4x3 TV. Disgusting isn't it?
