My DSTV channels keep on breaking up and the sound is terrible. I have tried several channels all the same result. Anybody experiencing the same problem

There were issues with the broadcast earlier. We tested on 3 different dishes and there was terrible quality on various tranponders. Seems okay now, at home...

Also having trouble here (CPT). Seems to have started with the rain.

Guessing my dish is perhaps slightly out of alignment?

My patrents' DSTV used to break up quite badly when the weather got a little bad. After they got a HD PVR and a bigger dish (90cm) the issue was sorted. If I remember correctly, the installation technician told my dad that smaller dishes tend to cause those signal break-ups. I might be wrong though.

Name some channels...

I am not having any problems here (Cape Town)

The important ones... Cartoon Network, Disney XD, Boomerang... :p.

Much wailing and gnashing of teeth from the lil'uns. Grrrr. It also HAD to happen after I installed a channel AV switch / selector thing... had me fiddling with the cable at the back of the decoder.

/sigh

I was not very popular... my ratings did indeed double dip.

Weltevreden Park area, break up on most channels, but seems to have settled now. No bad weather up here, it's Winter...

It was raining in Potchefstroom earlier, after the rain had stopped, a few channels went off. In typical Murphy's Law fashion, it was the one channel that was being recorded on the HD PVR and the channel we happened to be watching.
My girlfriend was recording something on Style while we watched Studio Universal. Old Charlie Sheen movie was on.

I've given up on DStv premium and switched over to a cheap package, the money's better spent on uncapped ADSL to satisfy all of my entertainment needs...

We called DSTV awhile back and they took us through changing the freq of our channels, after sentech or w/e switched on their **** our signal got broken down
