Morning all.

I got a new tv for my folks and during initial setup was asked about scanning DTV channels into the live TV program list. To try achieve success at this I took the RF out form the Explora and plugged it directly into the TV RF in.
There are a whole pile of settings involving transponders and frequencies regarding the satellite and signals which after hours I haven't been able to nail down.
Am I wasting my time?
Is it possible to get the entire DSTV programming list to show up directly on the TV's live TV menu?
Currently the work around is viewing via HDMI as an input or via the DSTV Now app, but having the above work would be ideal instead of either using multiple remotes when via HDMI or using data via DSTV now.
Not all that clued up on this, any assistance would be appreciated.

Well, connecting via HDMI you will have much better picture quality for starters and you also only need the DSTV remote if you have the a7.. The a7 remote has a separate button that is meant to power the TV on and off and for volume, you set the TV volume to a level where you are able to adjust the volume on the DSTv either up or down as and when needed to be at the right levels..

The a7 remote seems to work out the box with my Samsung TV, but not with my JVC and Hisense.. You can program the remote for other brands though, instructions should be here:

There really is no need to faf about with RF etc..
