First DSTV chopped ITV, one of what was then their 3 total entertainment channels (ITV, BBC First and MNet). Now a second one, BBC First, is going. Sports value increases which is great for us sports lovers, but what about other members of the family who used to enjoy the best entertainment on offer anywhere on the spectrum? No doubt we will hear that the best of British will go to other channels, but it didn't happen with ITV so why would it with BBC? Such cuts make it difficult to justify the Premium fee!

I don't get these complaints. People have been wanting DSTV/MultiChoice to release their monopoly hold on content and rights, wishing them to close down, predicting their demise with the rise of international competitors.

And then, when the early signs of this demise becomes apparent, we complain about that as well.

Such cuts make it difficult to justify the Premium fee!

DSTV Premium's price hasn't been justifiable for the last decade.

BBC and ITV South Africa might be preparing to launch Britbox here so that could be why ITV Choice and BBC First got cut
I wont be surprised if the last few BBC Channels get dropped by the end of 2021

i couldn't agree more
