Some channels were lost earlier, on our Standard Decoder & displayed this code 133-4 (if I remember correctly). Tried to re-boot, and now stuck on ''Waiting for NIT acquisition".

After a long while decoder picks up 1 public operator, but no TV or radio services.

Only other info displayed is :
Connected to (1 of 1)
11594 V 27500 5/6 (IS7)

.. but it's essentially stuck on the Scanning screen.
Every now & then it restarts the rebooting phase, but goes no further than Scanning screen / attempt.

Anything to do with the new channels they added yesterday ?

Cannot get through to them on (011) 289-2222 either.

Would appreciate it if someone knows what that code above stands for, and why this might suddenly be happening ? First time ever the decoder won't perform a scan.

Hehehehe - had my wife and son unplugging, rebooting, card out/in for the last 30 minutes! Patrons want to watch the Ashes and Tour de France....

Ja, was surprised it hadn't been reported anywhere here yet - either article or thread.
Was sure it couldn't be local problem ; convinced countrywide issue !?

Funny thing is, before I tried the reboot option, we did have a no of the channels still available to us, so it would've been better to leave things alone !

Crap, same with me.
Called multichoice number and was 285 in the que. thought it was normal :o

Do we leave it to continuously reboot or switch off?

Leaving mine on - when they pull their fingers out, each decoder will probably go through the motions automatically.

is it only Standard decoders that are affected or PVRs also?
our PVRs seems to be working fine.

DSTV forum was offline for a few minutes actually.
seems to be back now.

Back, but I'm not so sure problem's fixed - we have all the channels now, but only pay for Select 1.
I think they've put everyone onto Premium, and slowly but surely will wean the rest of us off ..

Everything sorted. Appreciate others for their posts, thought it was affecting me only.

Just a heads up...if you find you are missing some channels, you need to go to advanced options and restore to factory default. Pin code is 9949. I had to do it twice before it came right. A very helpful dstv operator aided me :)

Good to know, but you did miss out a step or two, in instructions -
After selecting ''Menu'' then ''Advanced Options", you need to select ''Dish Installation'' then put in 9949, and only thereafter can you select ''Reset to Factory Defaults".
