Hi,

Am planning to buy DSTV decoder very soon. So I'm looking for someone install dish in my place so Anyone can help who reccommend or who I can contact to in surrounding Morningside, Durban?

I got quote as it R850 and other was R1600. Not sure if R850 is reasonable price? Unless if you can tell me the reasonable price less than that?

Excuse me of my english grammar.

Buy a decoder, dish combo from Game or Makro and it comes with a voucher for installation.

Inside the decoder's box you'll find a voucher. Give that to the person who installs your dish.

That's his payment

Price Depends you getting single view or Xtraview/PVR + but as electric said buy the combo

Already bought Explora from DionWired. So Will look in box tonight if there is vouncher for dish installation.

The Explora unfortunately does not come with an installation voucher.
I could have sworn I got a voucher with mine...

I sold my HD-PVR to someone and gave him the voucher I received with the Explora and the installer accepted it and installed the dish and a single LNB

That R850.00 sounds as if it is for a single LNB installation (basically your normal single channel decoder). With the HD PVR and the Explora you require a minimum of a twin LNB (for the High definition and recording functions). If you do go for the R850.00 fee rather just check with the installer to make sure it is for the Explora.

Maybe even better is to phone Multichoice and get some names of recommended installers for your area.

+1 and also try not to get ripped off.
you just need a twin LNB , Dish and cabling, if they say install stuff like a multi switch (IIRC the Explorer comes with one) or if he says crap Like a few bucks extra for HD lnb (They call the SATCR that to make it sound important) is better don't listen.

Alright thank! Will inform to installer that I've Explora and ensure the price include dish + install + setup without rip off.

Just do it yourself - my dish is hanging on by some rusty nails and I fiddle with the LNB until it finds signal, currently fluctuates around 70% - had to change lnb recently because of direct lightning on the house, but it all works even though I probably have the messiest dstv installation there is.

By the way isie is right. Just got confirm that I require twin LNB. so the price incresae to R1500

Just buy a decoder from game that comes with an installation voucher, have the installer connect you to one point. Then do the twin lnb installation yourself. It'll cost you around 1000 totaled but you'll have two viewing environments. The single view and explorer

Pretty good advice. Even if you get the voucher and ask the installer to upgrade you to a twin and 2 cables from the dish, as well as XtraView setup, it should still be around R1500 odd. R1500 for only the twin LNB and 2 feeds to one point is ridiculous actually.

So true the installation is so easy especially with all the guides available.
