I had to drive to my dad's house during lunch as he says his DSTV died...

Drove all the way there to check the cabling and so on. Turns out some channels work fine and other's don't. Some channels says: "Check your installation, if problem persists contact Multichoice" It's a and when I put it on a channel that works the signal strength is 100%, quality 95% (Tuner 1) When I change to a channel that doesn't work it has zero signal and zero strength all the way to tuner 4 then the signal that was on tuner 1 is on tuner 4.

Anyway, dad says it was working this morning and he thinks he pressed a button on the remote the farked it up.

Anyone know what the issue can be? I'll drive there again after work but would like to avoid phoning Multichoice if possible.

My dad is having the same issue on his decoder and I also dont have an answer. Holding thumbs that someone has an answer to this issue. My dad even called guys out who replaced the LNB and theyve said its trees in the way, but it doesnt explain why some channels are 100% and others arent.

Which channels are affected, horizontal or vertical? I had a problem where my outside alarm passive was messing with the signal, causing the vertical (I think) to lose signal intermittently. Moved the detector and problem solved. On another occasion I had to turn the LNB slightly to fix it.

Get it aligned, and make sure the screws are tightened because they will align it but leave the screws semi loose so that if there is a gust of wind you have to call them again and pay them again.

Had the same problem, they replaced the dish with a bigger one, problem solved

Very weird though. He said it was working fine this morning and then just gave him that error.

I saw one cable being very worn due to the sun. Maybe just redo that one connection and see. But it was working perfectly since I installed it about 3 weeks ago... bleh.
