dstv display quality question

ok i got my dstv hooked up to my LG 32 inch (never had dstv or a lcd before) and i noticed last night that the quality of picture for TRACE (325) and sabc 3 (133) are terrible. why ? every other channel seems to be fine.

the trace is always terrible their videos are always blurry a lil and last night i was watching heroes on sabc 3 and it was as if it was in 3D or something blurry and screen burns but no other channel seems to be doing this...

my signal is usually around 86% if that helps oh and it's a communal (sp) dish

I've noticed at times they scale resolution down on non prime time slots and channels... you do know that multichoice is a bit stuffed at the moment for bandwidth?!? So I bet they are juggling things around to save on it....

Yeah Trace has always been awful picture and sound quality for me.

Not always... I think its the best Music channel at the moment! (content not quality)

Yeah and especially using an LCD, one can easily notice the artifacts that DSTV have in their transmissions - due to the compression that they use.

Old CRTs have built-in (but unintentional) anti aliasing. This makes the hard edges appear softer.

You cant do much on this since its Standard Definition on an LCD.You can probably change your settings under resolution in the decoder but that wont make much of a difference.I have the same problem ..was better on my Logik CRT.

Get a PVR and there will be noticeable difference!

we are running dstv on a 32w550 and the quality is amazing but will look at those two channels to see what they are like
