Dstv Drifta (App not not in Android Market)

Hello guys. So my sister gave me a Drifta that she got for free at a work function. I checked on the manual and it says you must have Android 1.6 or higher. All you do is basically go to the market and do a search for "Dstv Mobile Decoder". I have done that but it does not come up.

It just says this

"We couldn't find anything for your search - dstv mobile decoder.
Suggestions:

Make sure all words are spelled correctly.
Try different keywords.
Try more general keywords."

Have any of you guys got this working on your Android phones? Mine is on FroYo.
 
I don't think the Drifta is compatible with Android devices yet. I could be wrong but last I heard it wasn't

But it is in the manual??? :-(

Oh well...not a big loss. Had a look at the channels that is available and to say that the selection sucks is a understatement. But I wanted to see how it works!!!!!

Only on iOS at present. Video disribution lockdown issues with Android that need to be sorted out first.

Silly for them to print it in the manual then....oh well. Like I said...crap channels anyway so not as if I am missing something...unless I was a sport fanatic. They have like 4 super sport channels on it and no movie channel. I swear...multichoice is seriously sport bef@k.
 
Works really well on iPad. Watching rugby on it as I type this.

Ooh I didn't know it states that it supports Android in the manual.

I recon someone can use that in court/ASB to make Multichoice to get their act together.

Isn't bait marketing an offence under the Act ?

Exactly that, you can even use that book to get Multichoice to buy you an iPhone. Claiming that you went for a cheap Android as you thought it would work with drifta and found that Android is not supported.

Buy a R1200 Android get a insta iPhone upgrade for free ;)
 
I watch mp4 and flv videos, movies and tutorials on my handset. There is a hell lot of pause and resume as I fit it around my life.
I want to point out that people (and there is always a lot who bitch about the lack thereof ) who want dstv mobile to broadcast a movie need to think through their delusion of sitting through a 90 min movie on their handset.
Its a pity that dvb-t2 broadcasts are still to take of, as the Drifta blurs the mobile with the desktop and confuses some consumers. In fact the drifta and dstv mobile is just one low res. blur.

True, but its a great medium to get that match you missing because you forced to work late. Pop phone on the side of the screen while you work at the office.
 
Drifta not a blur on my iPad unless I try to use it full screen. At normal size it is very good. At R34/month it offers great value.
