If you were cursing at Multichoice for not having updated the DSTV Drifta decoder app for ICS Android, well, curse no more. :)

It actually works remarkably well. If you are connected to your home wifi, it will automatically connect to your drifta, without you having to select the Drifta first. And when you exit the app, Android will connect you straight back to your home wifi.

Well done Multichoice, very nice update!

*There is a list on the app's Google Play page for all ICS phones supported. Enjoy! :)

I'm assuming it doesn't work on a rooted device? I had to root my Samsung Galaxy Note to get ICS on it, tired of waiting for our useless operators in this country to release it.

Nope, afraid not.

It should work. The gingerbread version works on my rooted HTC desire.

Just use the root backup app that allows you to temp unroot your phone.
OTA Rootkeeper

Thanks @Fransh. I've read that OTA Rootkeeper doesn't work on some phones and also removes root completely sometimes... :-)

Well you wouldn't lose allot to test it. You can always root again if in some case it does completely remove your root.
I have used it and never had any problems.
