Hi guys
I've been having endless headaches running DSTV Drifta (the original WIFI dongle that was sold - this guy: http://selfservice.dstv.com/self-service/decoders/drifta-mobile-decoder/) on Windows 8.
I've done a fresh install of the software on a Windows 7 Enterprise box and the device works, picks up channels etc. in no time.
Same cannot be said for Windows 8 though.
Have even used CCleaner and Revo Uninstaller to remove any traces of the device and software in the registry.
Fresh install (same as Windows 7) of decoder software and same mechanism to deploy driver software and it gets as far as the Drifta software "Connecting to SS1" or "Connecting to M-Net Mobile" or whatever else. The Channels are all visible, the Schedule is all there, it just sits *forever* with a little spinning wheel but nothing happens.
The Device Manager now recognises the device as "Tivizen Mobile TV USB" which is how it shows up on the Windows 7 machine. Still, nothing works on Windows 8 but all 100% on Windows 7.
Anyone else have any trouble on Windows 8 and any suggestions on how I can fix this (or why it's pin-wheeling forever with nothing happening) ?
