DSTV Drifta

Gotta love their coverage map as well...

I can't figure out what is covered and what isn't...

This does present some interesting opportunities.. depending on HOW the device works that is.

If you have any specific questions, post them in this thread. I will hopefully be able to answer them by tomorrow. All depends on how accurate those coverage maps are though :)

Shouldn't he just google it?

Nah - just basing it on this thread.

Guys, I apologise for hurting your feelings. Honestly though, a ten second Google search is all it would have taken. Probably the same amount of time it took to post your questions.

As you well know, the Drifta only launched today. The 'how the device works' part is not completely clear yet. There are some specs on battery time, resolution, coverage and a few obscure references to the software but no proper review. It's a valid question and as of yet, one that my Google searches has not been able to answer.

Got a drifta first thing this morning from Multichoice in Goodwood CT. Been running it on my iPhone and laptop all morning. Works great.

How's it look on the laptop?

Better than I expected it would be. The TV window is small and can be doubled without to much loss in quality. Very very nice on the iPhone. It's definitely worth it.

Is the PC software included with the Drifta?

what's the address? is it their office at the N1 shopping centre?

This is really for sports fanatics; those wanting to follow rugby, socccer and cricket on S1/2/3. News = eNews. Two music channels and Cartoon Network. Free until end of March 2011. R36 after that.

Agreed. The only reason I'm getting it is for SS 1/2/3.

The R599 for the Drifta is a bit steep but considering what one gets it's worth it.

R36/mo for SS 1/2/3? Isn't that what people have been crying for for a while now?
