DSTV Drifta

Any1 do a side by side quality test with the Galaxy Tab and the iPad yet?
 
Now that so called DSTV guy just deleted his posts.
 
Anyway, update from the xda post, Seo said it cannot be done, and he said its too complicated to explain why. Said we should wait for an official app.

Just a thought... It's no wonder that Samsung "sponsors" idols, and its just curious that the 1st android devices happen to be 3 Samsung devices. two of which are old (tab and s1).

Interesting thought. But what is Apple currently sponsoring for them? Because iPad/iPhone has been having it for the whole year now already...

Do you not watch SuperSport? All the analysts during the sports shows and outside broadcasts are using Apple iPads. Even on Carte Blanche... all Apple iPads.

Its got everything to do with security, and got nothing to do with OEM.

Reason Apple worked is they have better lock down than Android, and the same reason Samsung was chosen, because of better security. Same reason Netflix in USA came out on Samsung Nexus 1st. And if Netflix can be used as a measuring rod, we will soon get it on some HTC devices as well.

You may be right, but Dstv's "soon" could be in time for the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

No, I can't watch Supersport because the Drifta won't work on my rooted SGS... :-(

Kidding, I know what you mean. I actually forgot about how much they've been plugging that iPad on the SS shows. Still, it's not a conspiracy - money talks. Pay for your products to be in their shows, pay to sponsor Idols, and in return you'll get more products to drive sales of your devices. Money talks - it's just business (monopolistic practices aside).

The application is free, however it is not intended to be modified for the content it delivers is protected by studios.
I have requested our legal department to issue a take down notice on the forum for this specific application.
It violates the terms and conditions that a user agrees to when downloading the applications.

Such a downer really. That guy posing as a dstv rep may have very well been one.
Removed his posts to exclude them from any "wrong doing".

Dam them. Im glad a few of you guys benefited from today's events.
