212.5% better than any previous model. What would you like to know exactly?
 
Go check out of the DSTV forums, huge issues with the Explora, DSTV are aware of the issues but are planning on releasing a software update in December and then an update in March 2014 to fix most of the problems, dont bother buying it until then.

I know that I won't be able to record 2 and watch 1 as I can at the moment. What's the catsup programming like? Do you have to wait days to see something you've missed, like rugby?

I have to disagree. Some issues here and there, as can be expected, but there is no reason not to buy it now. Most are running 100%...
 
If you have an SD decoder then get it.
If you have an HDPVR that you are happy with now, then hold on for a while

Catch Up is great, plenty stuff available, and yes its available very quickly after sporting events
