Hi all. We recently got an explorer and I want to hook it up to the internet. I go to the DStv website but I can't find get connected. Please help. Thanks.

Hi, you just plug it in, if you've got dhcp enabled it should start working.

If you have standard settings in your modem / router, then simply link your Explora via a ethernet cable and it should connect within a few seconds.

It could be a little more tricky if you are going the wireless route.

Once linked, you can check the connectivity status on your Explora.

DHCP is a protocol that your router does whereby it dynamically assigns an ip to a host.
Also you can only view extra content

Not really .. My Explora is connected to my home wi-fi. All that is needed is the DSTV Wi-Fi connector, and pairing it to a wi-fi router. But I only did it this way as the I didn't want the hassle of running a long Ethernet cable from the study to the Explora in the lounge. A short Ethernet cable links the Wi-Fi connector to the Explorer

I also use the wifi connector.... but I have some custom settings on my router :p

(hence the "little more tricky")

What else can you do with the internet on the Explora besides downloading Catch Up movies?
