Hi all,

Please assist

Background Infor
I have 2 Explora Decoders and Xtraview. The remotes for the explores are both the A6 model. Both decoders are in the sitting room with one being connected to the second tv in the bedroom via a cable with a TV link Eye. The main decoder is connected to the TV in the sitting room

The issue is:

After the last load shedding we had, we noticed that the TV Link Eye at the 2nd tv was not responding to the remote at all (no red light flashing if you did something on the remote like normal).

We went onto the remote settings on the DSTV help option and found that the TV link option was turned off, we turned it on and it is now working fine.

The problem is now if someone is changing channels or doing anything with the remote on the second tv in the bedroom it changes the channels on both decoders or if I'm watching something on channel 122 in the sitting room and the other person is watching channel 101 in the bedroom and they pause it will pause what I'm watching as well.

There is no issue with changing channels etc with the main remote, it works perfectly and has no effect on the 2nd TV environment.

Is this a setting that went haywire after the load shedding and if so what can I do to correct this?

Thanks

It seems that your second decoder has reverted its settings back for the TV eye link. although you have switched the tv eye link back on again have you also looked at the settings for your different modes?

you need to go in on your explora decoder for the spare room
click on the DSTV button
and go to settings
select system settings
select remote control

If your remote control for the room is set to mode 2 (the green light underneath the back button lights up when you push a button) then you need to ensure that mode 1 and mode 3 are set to ignore.

Thanks for the reply ISP Cash Cow.

I tried that and afterwards the TV remote for the main decoder became unresponsive

where does it become unresponsive in the bedroom or in the main lounge?

Are you controlling both exploras from the bedroom with the tv link eye or are you only needing to control one explora?

If it becomes unresponsive in the main room then it may be that your second decoder (Mode 2) is set to your main tv and (mode 1) may be your bedroom tv.

Just check which light flashes on your main decoder remote

mode 1 = the green light will flash under the I (information) button on the remote
mode 2 = the green light will flash under the back button on the remote.
mode 3 = where both lights will light up green (this is generally not used unless you have three decoders set up)
