Lost and Confused...
Hi guys

I have a PVR installation and it utilises that Eye (or Uei or what-you-ma-call-it).
Yesterday, on the remote TV, I am unable to change channels, volume or anything. I have tested the remote, both are fine. There is a little red light on the part where the co-ax cable connects to the eye. There is also a dim red light on the Eye itself that flashes when a key is pressed on the remote.

Any ideas?

In the menu, TV Link is enabled.

Is the cable between the decoder and eye complete?

ie. Are there any splitters etc.

You will a specific splitter if you have one.

Is it an SLx splitter? SLx splitters have a plastic casing with an LED light. Anything other than an SLx, will work intermittently.

I have a similar problem - I installed the Eye but it does not work - will check the splitter to see if it is SLx - might be my problem.

We used to import a Labgear version of the SLx, but changed to Triax recently. So, I can recommend either of those.

EDIT: This one...

Connect the eye directly on the decoder, see if it works. If it does, it is most probably a cable problem.

Don't think so. Voltage is still getting to link, as the LED goes on. More likely a return path problem, through a normal RF splitter. That is why I'm recommending the special Triax splitter (linked above).

Hi guys

Sorry for the *very* late update. Tried everything, eye replaced, rejoined the port type thingies... everything...

Turns out, there was a geyser burst a little while ago. The kind plumbers decided to re-wire the DSTV setup as well. Thus breaking it.

Sorted out! Thank you all kindly for your help!
